Each year, Impact100 NWF funds projects with high potential for community impact. Grant funding comes from member contributions and each Impact100 NWF member will vote to select the funded projects.
We pool the $1,000 required membership donation from each of our members to award grants of $100,000.
Membership donations are collected through April 30. The exact number of grants is revealed at our membership number reveal event in May. The number of grants available in each focus area is determined by the number of members we have as of April 30th each year.
Nonprofit organizations begin the grant application process by submitting a Letter of Intent to Apply (LOI) which is available on February 1st and due no later than March 31st each year. LOIs are reviewed to verify each organization’s eligibility to apply for a grant. In the LOI, we als0 ask for a brief description of the proposed project. You can read more about organizational and project eligibility HERE.
Grant applications are accepted through July 1, each year. Organizations rank the 5 categories below in the order in which they'd like to be considered. We do this to keep the number of applications per category as balanced as possible. The Focus areas are:
- Arts & Culture
- Education
- Environment, Recreation & Preservation
- Family
- Health & Wellness
During September and early October, Impact100 NWF members serve on committees that evaluate the grant proposals. The committees select a maximum of two finalists in each of the five focus areas. Those finalists are notified in October of their status and introduced to Impact100 members at the Finalist Reveal Event.
After the Finalist Reveal, those Finalists write a concise summary of their grant proposal and prepare a five minute presentation to deliver to membership at our Annual Meeting.
In November, we invite all members to cast a vote to determine the winning grant recipients. The winners are announced at the end of our Annual Meeting.
